Maui School Begins
An additional enrollment of 185 students is anticipated this year within the Maui County School District, which includes the islands of Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
According to the State Dept. of Education, some 11,841 students are expected for the 1971-1972 school year that begins tomorrow (Thursday). This compares with an enrollment of 11,656 in 1970; 11,035 in 1960, and 11,680 in 1950.
Maui Community College, with an enrollment of about 1,000 last year, is expecting 1,215. Maunaolu College, with 182 students last quarter, is expecting 150 this fall.
